Jagged Alliance 3 Devs Have One Job: 'Not Botching It'; New Video
The developers of the upcoming Jagged Alliance 3 have spoken out about pressure from fans and beyond. The new video shows behind-the-scenes footage of the game's development and includes gameplay fragments.
Although the next part of the popular series of tactical turn-based strategy games, Jagged Alliance 3, was announced by THQ Nordic more than a year ago, there is still quite little footage of the game available. The developers have just broken the silence and are reminding us of their game through a video of developer comments, which also features gameplay footage (below).
In the game's trailer, called Legacy, features, among others, Ian Currie, the director of the first and second installment. From the video (as well as the latest developer's diary) we learned that he was initially skeptical about helping with Jagged Alliance 3, mainly due to the fact that the newer installments of the series (developed after the closure of the studio responsible for the first two parts) did not impress him. However, THQ Nordic assured Currie that it intended to do the next installment well, without rushing it - so that it would be a worthy spiritual successor to Jagged Alliance 2. This and a meeting with the team overseeing work on the game led him to agree to help with the story of the latest installment.
Also speaking in the video are Bojan Ivanov and Pavel Peychev - developers from Haemimont Games. According to Currie, they are huge fans of the series and have a peculiar sense of humor, while taking a serious approach to Jagged Alliance 3. As Pejchev stated:
"Every person who has played and is passionate about the series says 'It [Jagged Alliance 3 - ed. note] looks interesting. Don't f**k this up.' So yeah, no pressure."
Recall that Jagged Alliance 3 is heading exclusively for PC for now. We still don't know the game's release date, even an approximate one.
