Jagged Alliance 3 (JA3) - Biff Fight and Decision
At some point of JA3 you will be contacted by Biff. Situation is getting serious.
The plot of Jagged Alliance 3 thickens. Biff, one of the missing mercs, contacts you and wants help. But Major sends his Legion to eliminate him. The man has some interesting information about the situation in the country. You will be able to learn a lot from him… but will he survive? Go to A8 and find out. JA3 Biff Fight – what to do before the fight
- Firstly, stop a squad send by Major. It will make the battle more difficult. Once you defeat it, you may spend some time at wondering around. The game does not hurry you. On the other hand, when you help Biff, it will trigger major event. If you want to explore the world peacefully, don’t go there immediately.
- Secondly, you should take at least 4 (we recommend 5+) mercs. The battle will be bloody. You should pick 2 snipers (minimum), Medic and someone with high Explosives.
- Do all quests in Refugee Camp. You will thank me later.
- Take some grenades with you, they will come in handy.
JA3 Biff Fight Tips
- Before you start talking with Biff, it is a good idea to find safe spots for your mercs. Your snipers should definitely climb up the billboard in the middle of the map. It is a great point for them. Keep the rest of your squad close to it, as you will be able to help each other.
- If you have some proximity or remote explosives, you may place them. Enemies will mostly attack from south and east. Take that into consideration.
- There are some cars in the middle of the map. They seem like a nice point of hiding at the first glance. And they are! But you must remember one thing – vehicles explode. So, if you decide to use this place as your fortress, be prepared to run away.
- You will have to face 4 or 5 waves of enemies – it depends on your decisions.
- It is difficult to keep Biff alive. He sounds like a scared person but in combat he does not care for his life! Nevertheless, it is possible to save him, just place your people on the billboard and in front of it, among the cars. It will make most of enemies concentrate on your mercs. Is it good? Decide yourself.
- First two waves will attack from the south. Third will also come from that direction but it is special one. We will talk about it below. Forth squad will come from the east and the last one will appear from the east and west.
- Third wave is special, if you decide to give diamond to soldiers they will stay and help you.
- The enemy will be able to bombard the sector. If you see a red circle on the ground, run away from the center. The bomb will probably not kill the healthy merc but it will badly wound him or her. However, if you know that you will finish off the wave before the next turn, you may ignore the warning, as mortars work only during combat.
Jagged Alliance 3 – Biff decision
Chimurenga and his soldiers
- Keep diamond for yourself – it will start a fight. As soldiers go quite near Biff, it is the moment in which he will probably die. There is really little what you can do other than cover him with bodies of your mercenaries. After a wining fight, you may decide to kill or spare Chimurenga.
- Give diamond to Chimurenga – you will get a large loyalty boost with Pantagruel (50) and soldiers will help you in further combat. This option is possible if you pass wisdom check.
The diamond is worth $50 000. You can cash in it or give it to the museum.
Biff conversation
If Biff has still a diamond, he will not give it to you. You may let him go or kill him and get it from his body.
If he survives the fight, and you will not kill him, you will be able to persuade him to testify against [data corrupted, big spoilers detected] (you will know who he wants to testify against when you talk with him, I will not spoil it for you).
