Space City Builder Ixion Decently Priced on Steam; Patch Revolutionized Difficulty
Ixion is a strategy game about building a space station. The game's developers have released an update that adds desired difficulty levels to the game.
Ixion is a city-builder strategy in which the player manages a space station and searches for a "new Earth." The game was released on December 7, 2022, and has garnered "mostly positive" reviews from players and critics. However, they also pointed out several shortcomings - one of the most common complaints was that the game has a poorly balanced difficulty level and can suddenly become very challenging.
Developers from Bulwark Games listened to the community's feedback and introduced update 1.0.4.7, improving this aspect. In the description of the update we read about three new difficulty levels..
- Journey - for players who want to enjoy the narrative and are just taking their first steps in the city builder genre.
- Default - the intended version of Ixion, recommended for those familiar with city builders.
- Challenge - a constant struggle for survival; a mode for Administrators who want to test their skills.
In addition, there is a fourth option that enables players to adjust the difficulty to their liking. Bulwark does not specify what parameters can be changed, but notes that these settings can be modified "during the game," enabling us to find the perfect balance of challenge.
The update aims to make the game more friendly to beginners and those who want to focus on the creative and exploratory aspects. At the same time, the game still offers a challenge for those looking for more competition and complexity.
Ixion is available on Steam (currently with a 30% price reduction) and Epic Games Store.
