“I've never even heard of that movie.” Jared Leto suggested that Urban Legend is his worst film and he would rather forget about it
Jared Leto apparently doesn't want to remember this $72.5M film starring him. During the interview, he claimed he had never heard of Urban Legend.
Jared Leto has had better and worse films in his filmography. Recently, he is often reproached for Morbius, which was a flop, however, the actor himself, unlike many viewers, has worse feelings about another production with his participation, which he seems to have pretended not to remember.
1998 saw the release of the film Urban Legend, in which Jared Leto played one of the leading roles. Being such a prominent figure in it, it would seem that the actor would not forget his participation in such a production, however, when asked during an interview with IGN in 2002 about Urban Legend, the actor acted as if he did not remember the film.
What's that? […] Get the $%&* outta here! […] What are you talkin' about. […] I don't even remember that. […] I don't even know what you're talkin' about dude. […] That's so weird. I've never even heard of that movie.
The actor responded to the reporter with a laugh, at one point admitting that he must have had “a blackout” because he completely forgot about the film. It seems, however, that Leto was merely joking, pretending to have forgotten about Urban Legend, thus suggesting that he would simply prefer to forget about the production. This is further suggested by the words with which he summed up the entire conversation about Urban Legend, “You live and you learn, you know what I mean?”
Given how negatively the film Urban Legend was received (30% positive reviews from critics and 37% from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes), it's no surprise that Jared Leto isn't proud of the horror film he took part in more than 25 years ago.
Urban Legend is a 1998 horror film in which a series of murders occur on a certain campus. A group of friends begin to suspect that it has something to do with urban legends. Leto played a student newspaper reporter in the film.
