In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Helping Our Companions Will Be Very Rewarding
The „power of friendship” will play an important role in the upcoming RPG from BioWare studio. The developers explained the principles of the so-called Relationship Level in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
July brings a lot of information about the game Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Recently, we learned that the game will allow us to customize the difficulty level and will provide full freedom when it comes to setting the appearance of our party.
BioWare has now revealed more details about the so-called "Relationship Level." The mechanics will require us to establish connections with our companions (not only romantic ones), for example, by carrying out missions assigned by them or solving their problems.
As a result, we will earn points that can be used for the development of companions. Let's note that their skill trees won't be as extensive as Rook's (the main character of the game). We will improve each of the companions up to 5 talents.
As the game's director, Corinne Busche, said in an interview with Game Informer, relationships with companions will be crucial from the gameplay point of view. Importantly, they will establish closer contact not only with our character, but also with each other (which we briefly mentioned earlier).
Relationships are key, not only romance but friendships. We wanted to lean into not just the relationships the characters have with you but the relationships they have with each other. It's a found family, and at the end of the day, they need to trust they all have each other's back.
The romance system between party members also appeared in other BioWare titles. It was present in Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition. You can read more about the solution used in The Veilguard in one of our previous news.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is scheduled to be released in November 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. We still have to wait for the announcement of the exact premiere date.
