Impressive Sales of Spider-Man on PS4
Sony Interactive Entertainment is finalising the purchase of Infomniac Games, the studio responsible for Spider-Man on PlayStation 4, and we learned that the title sold in an impressive volume.
Yesterday we informed that Sony Interactive Enterteinment entered the final stage of the process of purchasing the American team Insomniac Games, responsible for such titles as Spider-Man, the Ratchet & Clank series or the upcoming Stormland. However, let's stay with the first of the aforementioned titles, which is the jewel in the developer's crown. In the press release on the acquisition of Insomniac Games by SIE, we read that the 2018 Spider-man adventures have sold more than 13 million copies (by July 28, this year). It must be admitted that this is a really good result, especially in the case of a title that is exclusive to one platform.
It is worth noting that Insomniac Games has worked with Sony even without being part of SIE. The exclusivity of Spider-Man or Ratchet & Clank on PlayStation 4 only confirms this. The excellent sales result of the first title is a proof of the success of this cooperation and heralds further successes, as Ted Price, the founder and head of Insomniac Games, said:
"Joining the WWS [Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios - editorial note] family gives Insomniac even greater opportunities to achieve our studio vision of making positive and lasting impressions on people's lives. We've enjoyed a special relationship with PlayStation practically since our inception."
Spider-Man was released on September 28, 2018, exclusively on PlayStation 4.
