Immortals of Aveum Won't Become the Summer Star - Release Delayed
FPS Immortals of Aveum will not come out in July after all - the game's release has been delayed. Fortunately, the delay is not great.
Fantasy first-person shooterImmortals of Aveum was supposed to be one of the few major games to debut in July this year. However, the developers changed their plans and decided not to release their work in the middle of silly season (a period usually devoid of AAA game launches) - they announced that Immortals of Aveum will be released on August 22. The game thus suffered only a one-month delay.
The developers explain that they made such a decision by the desire to polish the game and ensure a stable release - which lately, even despite delays, is a difficult condition to meet for many developers.
"As you know, this is our first game as an independent studio. Five years ago, we set out to ambitiously create an original magic FPS in a new fantasy world. Along the way, we went through the pandemic, built a new team, worked on Unreal Engine 5.1 and pushed the boundaries of what we thought was possible. Now the finish line is in sight.
[...] In order to fully realize our vision, we are going to give ourselves a few extra weeks, while setting a new release date [for the game - ed. note] for Tuesday, August 22. This will provide us with time to polish the game, complete its optimization on all platforms and organize a solid launch [...]," reads the message by Bret Robbins, director of Immortals of Aveum and founder of Ascendant Studios.
Will delaying the release do anything, and Immortals of Aveum will turn out to be the star of August? We don't know, but there are high hopes, as the released gameplays look quite impressive, and Bret Robbins, who is responsible for the game, is a veteran of the genre (he was the creative director for Call of Duty: WWII).
Immortals of Aveum will be released on August 22 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
