“I’m a little irritated by him.” George Clooney criticized Quentin Tarantino after allegedly being insulted by him
George Clooney was irritated by Quentin Tarantino's alleged offensive comments aimed at him. “He’s not a movie star.”.
In 1996, George Clooney collaborated with Quentin Tarantino on From Dusk Till Dawn. Apparently, they failed to become friends on the set, as suggested by a strange situation that occurred years later. Clooney accused Tarantino of allegedly describing him in a demeaning way, which annoyed the actor enough to criticize him during an interview with Brad Pitt for GQ.
The actors talked to each other about the directors they have worked with in their careers. And when there was a comment that Clooney should work with Tarantino, he recalled that they had already had that opportunity, although in From Dusk Till Dawn the famous director stood in front of the camera, not behind it.
He mentioned in passing that he is currently annoyed by Tarantino, which is why he wasn't too interested in talking about him. He cited as the reason for his annoyance an alleged comment by Tarantino, who, according to Clooney, allegedly said about him that he is not a movie star and has not had a significant role since 2000, despite the fact that the actor has since starred in a number of important films for his career.
Quentin said some sh*t about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him. He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about you [Brad Pitt], and somebody else, and then this guy goes, “Well, what about George?” He goes, he’s not a movie star. And then he literally said something like, “Name me a movie since the millennium.” And I was like, “Since the millennium? That’s kind of my whole fucking career.” […] So now I’m like, all right, dude, f*ck off. I don’t mind giving him sh*t. He gave me sh*t.
It can be inferred from Clooney's statement that we should not expect the two to work together again. And it's unclear what interview with Tarantino the actor was referring to, as there is no trace online of similar comments by the director.
