“I have thought about that.” Mariska Hargitay revealed whether she is ready to retire from Law & Order: SVU after 26 years
Mariska Hargitay talked about her plans for the future, revealing whether a departure from the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is among them.
Mariska Hargitay is a veteran of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, in which she has played for 26 years. We could see her in more than 500 episodes of this production, and it's still not over. The actress also appears in the latest season of the procedural TV series, so we can expect her to remain a presence in the production for now. But what are her plans for the future? After 26 years, is she considering leaving Law & Order: SVU?
Hargitay was asked about this during an interview with E! News. At the time, she confessed that she had indeed been thinking about whether and when she should leave Law & Order: SVU, which has provided her with a lot of recognition. As she revealed, she knows that she will eventually have to say goodbye to Olivia Benson, but for now she does not want to do so. She is putting it off until a later time.
I have thought about that. Not yet. Just thought about it for way later. But I’m open.
Olivia Benson fans can therefore breathe a sigh of relief, as Mariska Hargitay has no plans to retire from Law & Order: SVU for the time being, where we will still be able to follow how the character she plays fights crime. The actress is now so identified with the production that her absence would certainly be felt by viewers who have been following the TV show for years.
Additionally, Hargitay revealed that even after potentially leaving Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, she has no plans to rest, as there are still challenges she would like to take on.
I am somebody who follows the signs. I trust that the future will be right and that I will be where I'm supposed to be. I'm very engaged and fulfilled at SVU right now and there's definitely things that I want to do and achieve challenge myself with.
So it is worth watching the future of the artist, who may surprise us with her further plans.
