„I Have Some Ideas.” Chainsaw Man Author, Tatsuki Fujimoto, Revealed What His Next Manga Might Be About
Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of Chainsaw Man, shared in an interview some hints about what his next manga might focus on.
Many fans of manga and anime are familiar with Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of Chainsaw Man, a series that's taken the world by storm. Fujimoto is also known for Fire Punch, which, while less popular than Chainsaw Man, has still gained critical acclaim beyond its core fanbase. In addition to these hits, the mangaka has written several lesser-known one-shots, including Look Back, Goodbye, Eri, and Just Listen to the Song, all of which were published on Shonen Jump+. For now, Fujimoto continues to work on Chainsaw Man, but in an interview from 2021, he discussed his plans for the future once the series is complete.

Chainsaw Man manga and anime
The first season of the Chainsaw Man anime was released on December 27, 2022, nearly two years ago. While the anime was generally well-received, many fans felt that the 12 episodes weren't enough to fully dive into the story. On December 17, it was announced that the anime would continue in the form of a movie, meaning the second season will be heading to theaters. Adapting manga into films has become an increasingly popular trend. Unfortunately, we still don’t know the release date for the Chainsaw Man movie, but you can check out the teaser below.
The current arc in the Chainsaw Man manga centers on Denji and Asa’s adventures. Although we’re still far from the arc’s conclusion, there's no clear indication of when the entire manga will end. You can read Chainsaw Man on Manga Plus, where new chapters are usually released every Tuesday.
What will be Tatsuki Fujimoto’s next manga?
In the previously mentioned interview, when Tatsuki Fujimoto was asked about his future manga projects, he responded accordingly:
I have some ideas, yes! In particular, I have a story that would start out as a romantic comedy. In the beginning, there would be several heroines, but only one of them manages to find love. Disheartened, the other girls would commit suicide and come back as evil spirits destined to haunt the one girl that managed to find a boyfriend.
Fujimoto might be gearing up to create something very different from anything he's done before. Fans can expect his unique style to take on a new form, but we should also remember that Fujimoto's stories are never as straightforward as they first appear. His works are known for their many layers, dark themes, and twisted narratives. I'm really excited to see how Tatsuki Fujimoto will tackle a rom-com, especially with his wild imagination and extraordinary talent. It’s bound to be something unlike anything we've seen before.
