HUMANKIND IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Developer: Amplitude Studios
  2. Publisher: Sega
  3. Genre: turn-based strategy
  4. Platform: PC
  5. Release date: 2020 r.

During the Gamescom Opening Night Live, Sega announced Humankind, a turn-based strategy game that is being developed by the devlopers of Endless Legend and Endless Space - Amplitude. The game is created exclusively for PCs and will be available for sale on Steam next year.

The information provided so far is scarce, but it seems that the devs want to challenge the Sid Meier's Civilization series. The player will take control of a simple community and will have to carry it through the centuries.

We will create our civilization by combining elements taken from 60 historical cultures from different historical periods - from the Bronze Age to modern day. The goal of the game is to gain great fame, which we have to build by making important decisions, winning battles and achieving other great deeds.

During the game we will meet many famous historical figures and face events that took place in the past. Apart from managing our civilization, we will spend a lot of time fighting. The devs promise a tactically developed battle system, taking into account the terrain and objects on the map. This will also have an impact on the strategic layer, as it will be necessary, for example, to design cities so that they can be more easily defended against attacks by enemy armies.
