Humankind and Psychonauts 2 Among Steam's Biggest August Release

A list of the biggest game releases of August was announced on Steam. It includes such items as Humankind, Psychonauts 2, Naraka: Bladepoint, 12 Minutes, King's Bounty 2 or Road 96.

Slow news season in the game industry can be considered over. Recent weeks have brought a lot of big releases, and more of them, e.g. Far Cry 6, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Age of Empires IV or Battlefield 2042, are on the way. A list of the most popular new games of August was published on Steam. The full list can be found below. What's important, do not pay attention to the order in which the titles were listed, because it is completely random (Valve does not provide accurate sales results).

The best August releases on Steam

It is worth noting the great results achieved by titles that from the day of release are available in Xbox Game Pass - Humankind, Psychonauts 2 and Twelve Minutes. Their popularity on Valve's store proves that the presence in the Microsoft subscription is not synonymous with poor sales.

We should also pay attention to the good Steam launch of Mortal Shell, which was previously an Epic Games Store exclusive title. The soulslike from Cold Symmetry cannot boast such numbers as Hades did in its time - during the last month up to 2000 people played the game simultaneously - but also the target audience of this title is much smaller. We are also glad about the success of a small, but very atmospheric Road 96.
