How to Unlock Penitence Mode in Cult of the Lamb
A new free DLC titled Relics of the Old Faith has arrived in Cult of the Lamb. In our guide, you will learn how to unlock Penitence Mode.
With the release of a new free expansion pack for Cult of the Lamb - Relics of the Old Faith, players can see a collaboration with another game - Don't Starve Together. In addition to new themed decorations and a follower, Webber, a new game mode has also been added. Our guide explains how to unlock Penitence Mode and what it features.
How to unlock Penitence Mode in Cult of the Lamb?
In order for players to unlock Penitence Mode, they must complete several necessary steps:
- First, you have to kill the spider to get its skull. This is not a guaranteed drop, so sometimes it will be necessary to exterminate several creatures. Most often they appear in the evening in the cult camp.
- Once you are in possession of the spider's skull, build a Body Pit, and then bury it right there.
- After a cutscene, a Webber should pop out of the grave, and will become your new follower. This will also unlock Penitence Mode. To enable it, you'll need to go to the Cult of the Lamb main menu and start a new game (it's best to choose a new save for this).
What is Penitence Mode in Cult of the Lamb?
Penitence Mode is heavily inspired by the survival mode in Don't Starve. Among other things, it adds hunger and sleep indicators for your main character. If these drop to zero, a special timer will start, which will begin taking away your health points over time.
What's more, if you don't take proper care of your character and death happens to you, it will be permanent! We recommend this mode to players who are familiar with most of the mechanics in Cult of the Lamb.
