Developers from Hello Games gave players a surprise. Not so long ago, they have released The Cursed Expedition. Today we have a chance to start yet another– Beachhead. It is not an ordinary one, though. If you complete all 5 phases, you will be able to get a special reward – Normandy (the update itself is much bigger, though), Commander Shepard’s ship from Mass Effect series. While it is not the first time this vessel appears in NMS, the last was in 2021. If it is your first expedition, you might be puzzled hot to start it. We will help you.

Traditional Way of Starting Beachhead in NMS

The first method is to start the game without anything from your main save. For a long time it was the only way of playing Expeditions. How to do it?

  1. After launching the game, pick Play or Join Friends according to your preferences.
  2. Next, click the New Game button.
  3. Finally, there is Community Expedition window in the lower right corner of the screen. You should see a sign Beachhead there.

Since a while ago, players can also prepare their loadouts from the main save. You have to still buy those items in the Expedition, but it will make your life easier. If you want to begin Beachhead this way, you have to:

  1. Start your main save and visit Anomaly.
  2. There look for Expedition Terminus.
  3. Pick your loadout (items which will be transferred to the expedition).
  4. At last, you can begin Beachhead. To collect your items, you will have to visit Anomaly and pay for them.
