Shadows of Doubt is a climatic, noir detective experience that recently has entered Early Access program on Steam. Set in a retrofuturistic world the player takes role of a private investigator tasked with tracking down a serial killer. As a detective you will collect a lot of evidence, yet not all of it will be valid and useful for your investigation. What to do with seemingly unnecessary stuff that fills your pockets? Continue reading to find out where and how to sell items in Shadows of Doubt.

Where to sell items in Shadows of Doubt

With the game’s open world, where you are allowed to travel virtually everywhere, you will bump into a lot of junk. In the corners of the city, you will find key evidence, but also useless trash that you would want to get rid of. Why not make some profit off of it?

There are three places that will allow you to sell things that you find worthless:

  1. Your apartment,
  2. Pawnshop,
  3. Black market.

How to sell items in Shadows of Doubt

As easy as it may sound, selling items in Shadows of Doubt is not very straightforward. Every place that allows selling items differs a bit.

If you choose to sell items in your apartment, drop the item on the floor, then enter the decor customisation menu and from there choose to sell the dropped item.

Selling items in pawnshops, which can usually be found on the ground floors of buildings, is tricky due to other reasons. Not only they have their own open and close times, but it happens that they can bug out and an NPC won’t appear. If you encounter the situation where you enter a pawnshop and there is no one inside but the lights are still on, don't lose hope. It is worth trying to turn them off and knock on the door. There is a chance that there is an NPC inside that will turn the lights back on, open the door and will be available for interaction. When talking to the NPC, use the sell icon that can be found next to the buy button.

Black market also has its own flavour. To be able to exchange goods, you will have to find a password in the first place. In order to do so, keep your eyes peeled to the graffiti on walls. When providing a password to the bouncers, make sure to use all lowercase letters. Some players have found that they can be lying about the validity of the password. If the password is correct, no matter what the NPC says, the dialog window will disappear.
