How to Preload BO6. Black Ops 6 Steam Version Not Working Explained
If you encounter issues with preloading BO6 on Steam, here you will find some tips that can help, while also learning how to do so on PlayStation and Xbox.
It is very hard to tell how many Call of Duty games there are, especially if we count all the possible platforms, including mobiles and more exotic or those in EOL stage. Nevertheless, Activision (now subsidiary of Microsoft) is not stopping pumping out more, as Black Ops 6 is just around the corner. We know that the recent releases of CoD titles can be quite swell, so it is expected that many of us would like to preload BO6 earlier. This, however, seems to be posing some problems, especially on one of the most popular launchers on PC – Steam. Here we will explore what is happening and how to preload this production so it’s ready on the premiere.
How to preload BO6
We have seen leaks suggesting that Black Ops 6 can take up to 300GB of disk space, yet fortunately it turned out to be false. Official information confirms that it’s around a third of that. Still, it’s a considerable amount of data to be downloaded, so preload is a great help to be ready on the launch day. To download the files, follow the steps below.
PlayStation
- Open Call of Duty app,
- Go to Options,
- Select Manage Game Content,
- Check Black Ops 6 and apply.
Xbox
- Go to Call of Duty app,
- Navigate to Manage Game & Add-Ons,
- Choose Black Ops 6.
Preload of Black Ops 6 not working on Steam explained
When it comes to Steam version, it appears in many fans’ posts that it poses problems. Despite much effort, there is no clear answer on how to fix this issue. That doesn't mean, though, that there are no things that we can try. Let’s see what we can attempt to make it work:
- If you have participated in BO6 beta tests, make sure to uncheck the beta option in DLC section of game properties. It is no longer valid. Also, check any files that are labelled “Black Ops 6”.
- If the above is already done and it doesn’t seem to work, try verifying game files.
- Lastly, you can hope that restarting Steam will help.
- Bear in mind that there is also redesigned Call of Duty Hub, where you are able to manage your CoD titles. You can try initiating the preload from there, while having the hub updated to the latest version. Sometimes reinstalling CoD Hub can help.
According to a previous post from the developers, all platforms should be available for preload now. Hopefully the tips above will help. While the game downloads, you can verify the system requirements to optimize your experience with BO6. Good luck!
