How Does the Mercy Timer work in Chillquarium?
Mercy Timer is an implemented system in Chillguarium to ensure that players get the rarest specimens after purchasing a specific number of fish. Each fish bought increases the counter by 1. The Mercy Timer is separate for golden fish and rainbow fish. Once you get a golden or rainbow fish, the respective counter resets to zero.
- Mercy Timer for golden fish is 1024
- Mercy Timer for rainbow fish is 8192
You can check the Mercy Timers in your game’s save file. They’re updated every 60 seconds.
How to Get Golden and Rainbow Fish in Chillquarium?
Now that we understand how the Mercy Timer in Chillquarium works, let’s dive into the easiest way to get those dazzling little golden and rainbow fish in these few simple steps:
- Buy 25 packs of freshwater fish to raise your Mercy Timer counter. One pack contains four fish.
- Sell all your newly acquired fish, as the tank has limited capacity.
- Continue to buy and sell the cheapest fish until you raise your Mercy Timer, ideally by 1000 for golden fish or 8100 for rainbow fish. Remember though, the more you farm the mechanics, the greater the chance of failure.
Getting golden and rainbow fish reset your Mercy Timer, so if you draw one, you will have to start the whole process from the beginning.
- Buy more expensive marine or giant fish.
- Open new packs until you get a golden or rainbow fish.
It’s worth noting that if you already have baby golden or rainbow fish, you can get their duplicate. The game does not “see” them in your tank during a roll. That’s why grow your rare fish first, before getting more, if you want to complete your collection.
If you do so, the game will reroll a golden fish if you already have the same adult specimen as the one drawn. However, duplicates may still arise because the second reroll is permanent. Things are different with rainbow fish, though; you’ll always get a new rainbow fish unless you already have all of them.
