How to Get Exocraft in NMS?

Exocraft is a type of vehicle in No Man's Sky that will help you explore the surface of planets. Here you will learn how to get one.

No Man's Sky is strongly associated with traversing space in the ships we build. However, we will also spend a lot of time exploring interesting planets. In turn, vehicles called Exocrafts can help us with this. Here you will learn how to construct them properly.

How to unlock Exocraft?

There are at least two ways to gain access to the vehicles that interest you. The first involves building them yourself. Below you will find a list of required steps.

  1. Wanting to get your first Exocraft, you must first gain access to the Construction Research Station.
  2. This facility can be acquired in two ways. The easiest way is to build the tool as part of the "Awakenings" series of missions, which will be the first quest line you encounter in the game. You will build the Construction Research Station during the process of erecting your first base. However, you can also find this facility in the game world. They occur in locations called Space Anomaly.
  3. Then activate the Construction Research Station and go to the Transport Modules section.
  4. There you will find various Exocrafts, which you can unlock with the help of collected Salvaged Data.
  5. This will give you the ability to build individual vehicles.

There is also another way to get Exocrafts. You can build a facility called Exocraft Terminal at your base (you will unlock it as part of the "Expanding the Base" mission). Then you must hire an NPC called Vy'keen technician. This will start the "Exocraft Technician" mission, after the completion of which you will receive a small Exocraft named Nomad.
