How to Create a Beautiful Quay in Cities Skylines 2
There is no dedicated tool to build a quay in Cities Skylines 2. However, you can craft waterfront in CS2 yourself.
Cities Skylines 2 is the second installment of popular city builder series developed by Colossal Order. Some of the mechanics that you know from the previous part have been improved. On the other hand, some of them are missing. In this guide you will learn how to build quays in CS2.
How to build quay in Cities Skylines 2?
In Cities Skylines 2 you don’t have access to quays. You can only build something that imitates a waterfront. To do so, you must do the following things.
- First, you must pick Shift Terrain tool, and set the tool brush size to 15 and strength to 15 or 20. Next, elevate terrain near water up to a selected height. However, it has to be quite high, otherwise you won't be able to build a road.
- Pick Level Terrain and set the tool brush size to 100 and strength to 60. Click Right Mouse Button on the elevated terrain. This will allow you to create a flat area of this height. Next click Left Mouse Button and level the selected area.
- When you create a flat surface, choose a road type from which you want to make the quay (in our opinion the best option is Pedestrian Street) and place it as close to the water as possible.
- If you want a perfectly level waterfront, you must use Level Terrain and create flat water bottom. It will clear remains of the ground at the bottom of the quay.
