No Man’s Sky and its new expedition Liquidators can be tricky. It is a well-known fact, especially for people who try to complete The Fat of the Land milestone. Finishing it is not a small achievement, as it requires you to harvest 900 resources in one burst (well, it seems to be a “lie”, though). If you have problems with this challenge and want to complete it easily (and get rewards), we can help you.

How to Complete the Fat of the Land Milestone in NMS

First of all, the wording of this milestone is misleading. Some players have noticed that the quest can be completed even if you take brief breaks between digging. It is not clear if the mechanic is based on the heat of the tool (it can’t cool down) or the resource counter (it can’t reset). Regardless, there is an easy way to complete this challenge.

Use Minotaur and its laser. You can buy blueprints of both of them on Anomaly. With this heavy suit, you will be able to complete the quest fairly quickly, as this mining tool does not overheat. Just find the spot with a lot of resources around you and start digging.

It is not all though, the trick is that 900 in The Fat of the Land milestone is not always 900 in the resource you collect. At least it seems so, probably some resources are worth more than others. So, if you want to complete this achievement in NMS, start from tracking the quest, and look at the counter, not the pop-up numbers. Thanks to that, you will not be mislead.
