How About Xbox Series X/S Controller With DualSense Features?
Microsoft may be interested in creating a new controller for Xbox Series X/S. This is suggested by a survey in which the company asks console buyers if they are interested in the features offered by the DualSense controller.
The launch of 9th-gen consoles is behind us, and while there are still problems with their availability (especially PlayStation 5, although this may change in the future, players have had enough time to check out the new PlayStation and Xbox. Apparently, the same conclusion was reached by Microsoft, who prepared a survey for Xbox Series X/S (via Techradar) buyers .
Most of the questions can be considered typical for this type of survey (e.g. about the quality and performance of XSX/S compared to similar products, whether the product is what the customers desired, etc.), but there were also more unique topics. For example, the company asks if the console appears to be truly "next-gen" and - what is probably the most interesting - if the competing DualSense controller has features that players would like to see in the controller for the new Xbox.
Apparently Microsoft is interested in implementing similar solutions, which is not surprising. Both adaptive triggers and haptic vibrations have been warmly received by gamers. Both technologies were used with significant success in Astro's Playroom, together with a built-in microphone (another feature missing in XSX/S pad), but the effects of their use can also be felt in games like Demon's Souls, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Bugsnax, FIFA 21 etc. Let's also remind, that in December DualSense was praised by no one else than Phil Spencer himself (see The Verge).
Nevertheless, it is better to hold reins on our fantasy. Microsoft may be interested in implementing one or two features in a new version of its controller, but so far this has not translated into specific promises.
