Why are Some Hogwarts Legacy Preorders Getting Canceled? We Explain
Players are reporting that preorders for one of the Hogwarts Legacy editions have been canceled. The matter was commented on by the developers, so we know what the reason is.
Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most anticipated games of 2023, so it's no surprise that many people have pre-ordered the title. Unfortunately, over time, it turned out that some of them received a message informing them that their preorder had been canceled. The older generation console version of the game is to blame for all this.
Digital Deluxe Edition preorders canceled
Hogwarts Legacy can be ordered, among other things, as the Digital Deluxe edition, meant to provide, among other things, earlier access to the full version of the game (on February 7 instead of February 10, when the official release will take place). This PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S release was also supposed to include a digital edition of the game for last-gen consoles, namely PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, whose release was delayed.
In response to a question from one player (an XSX owner) WB Games Support's official profile on Twitter published a clarification (shown above).
Comments by other gamers suggest that usually the issue ends up in refunds for those who ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.
Some fans of the game, however, do not fully understand everything and some are looking for help on, among other places, Reddit. One of them asked:
"Okay, so I am confused. Can I still order the Digital Deluxe Edition and play it on February 7th on Xbox X Series? I can't seem to find a clear answer on that and they worded it weird on Twitter."
To which he received the following reply:
"Yes. I was able to preorder the digital deluxe edition again from the Microsoft website this afternoon. Only difference in the bundle from my original preorder is that the Xbox one edition is not included."
Finally, it is worth recalling that Hogwarts Legacy will debut on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on February 10, this year. The PS4 and Xbox One edition, on the other hand, will see release on April 4, and Nintendo Switch owners will head to Hogwarts on July 25.
