Hitman 3 Will Get DLCs With New Jobs, But Not Maps
Hitman 3 will receive DLC with new missions. They will take place on modified maps from the previous two installments.
IO Interactive is planning DLC with additional missions for Hitman 3. However, we shouldn't expect new maps . The devs want to use locations from the previous two installments. This information was revealed by publisher Forest Swartout Large in an interview for The Gamer.
The dev admitted that the team has not yet decided what exactly will be added to the game. Describing IO Interactive's future plans, Forest Swartout Large only stated that the studio intends to refresh and modify older maps from the previous two installments of the trilogy. Editors of The Gamer speculate that as part of new content we should receive, among others, well-known escalation contracts or limited time assignments.
It's worth adding that earlier, Maurizio de Pascale, Chief Technology Officer at IO Interactive, stated that the release of Hitman 3 is only the beginning of the adventure, and the game will be developed over a longer period of time. One of the elements of this is to be the addition of ray-tracing to the Xbox Series X/S version.
Hitman 3 launched on January 20, this year on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The title was a huge success. The development costs were paid back in less than a week after the release.
Currently, IO Interactive is mainly focused on Project 007, in which we will play as James Bond. The devs hope that they will be able to develop a whole trilogy about the adventures of the British spy.
