Hideo Kojima May be Preparing Something Interesting for Summer Game Fest 2021
Hideo Kojima will appear in person at the opening ceremony of the Summer Game Fest 2021 event, which begins on June 10. About twenty new games will be shown at the event, so maybe some work of the Japanese developer will be among them.
Since the release of Death Stranding in 2019, the devs at Kojima Productions have been working on a new game, which they officially confirmed eight months ago. The project is being developed in secret and we know virtuallynothing solid about it, except that it will be revealed in the near future. Perhaps the presentation will take place during the official opening of Summer Game Fest 2021, scheduled for this Thursday. It is hosted by Geoff Keighley, who also serves as the curator of The Game Awards. During the event, which starts at 10:00 AM PT, we are supposed to see a total of about 20 new games.
Thanks to a photo published by Kojima's assistant, we know that the dev will most likely appear in person at the opening of the event. If we add to this the fact that Kojima is a good friend of Keighley and it was at his event that he presented Death Stranding, it's likely that the situation will repeat itself at Summer Game Fest 2021 and we'll finally see an announcement of the Japanese developer's latest project. It should be noted that the studio of the famous director is not listed among the official partners of the event, so at the moment it all remains in the realm of speculation.
Many people expect that Kojima's new game will be a horror and a spiritual sequel to what he wanted to achieve in the canceled Silent Hills. Others are expecting a direct sequel to Death Stranding or something completely crazy and surprising. Let's add that in recent months there was a lot of talk about negotiations between Kojima Productions and Microsoft. The American company wanted to establish close cooperation with the developer and publish his games. However, much of the news turned out to be just rumors.
