Helskate Looks Like a Lovechild of Tony Hawk and Hades
Helskate is a game where you'll combine kickflips with slaughtering monsters. Check out its action-packed trailer.
Slaying monsters in video games is an everyday occurrence, but fighting them while performing kickflips on a skateboard is a novelty that sounds like a recipe for failure. However, it turns out that in practice it's not so silly and looks quite interesting. Meet Helskate, a game that combines crazy tricks straight from Tony Hawk games with roguelite and borrowing quite a lot from the iconic Hades.
Madness on the board and with weapons in hand
Helskate is a game in which we will come to ride a skateboard, perform tricks, fight both common opponents and bosses, as well as gain weapon and equipment upgrades so we can wreak even more havoc.
However, it's not as bloody an idyll as it seems, as it will be very easy to die while playing. After death, we will return to the world of Vertheim, but it will be slightly different with each approach.
The game is being developed by studio Phantom Coast, headed by a youtuber known as Kwebbelkop. Interestingly, the main designer of Helskate is Steve Swink, who in the past has worked on, among other things Tony Hawk's Underground.
The game will be released in early access on Steam, but its debut date is not yet known. According to the studio Helskate will remain in Early Access for about a year.
