Helldivers 2 Finally Got Fixes That Players Were Asking For
Arrowhead Game Studios finally added an important feature to Helldivers 2 that should satisfy players. People who intentionally blocked servers will be kicked out of the game.
UPDATE:
The server capacity limit (CCU) has been increased from 450,000 to 700,000, as confirmed by Johan Pilestedt, Head of Arrowhead Game Studios, on X. "Unfortunately, we expect the CCU to reach that level," wrote Pilestedt. He also added: "We believe that the wait times will be much more bearable."
Original news (February 22th)
Players of Helldivers 2 have been complaining about server blocking by people who didn't participate in the game but still stayed in it to ensure a spot in later sessions. The devs finally acknowledged this problem and in the new update, they implemented a feature that will remove such individuals after a certain time.
Players blocking Helldivers 2 servers will be kicked out of the game
The most important addition in the recently released patch 1.000.11 is the ability to remove AFK (Away From Keyboard) players who are inactive in clashes. If the user won't do anything for at least 15 minutes, they will automatically be kicked to the main screen of Helldivers 2.
The community was happy to hear that people who intentionally block spots on servers are being removed from the game. There are plenty of enthusiastic comments on this subject on the Internet.
It should be noted that the devs encountered server capacity issues - there were simply more players eager to play than expected. So, the feature being discussed should improve the gameplay and provide new players with a chance to play.
Patch 1.000.11 - update details
Patch 1.000.11 for the hit shooter also provided some standard bug fixes, which you can read in more detail in the Arrowhead Game Studios announcement. Furthermore, the devs have mentioned other infamous bugs that they are currently addressing. Among them are the following problems.
- People playing on PlayStation 5 sometimes get error code 10003001 on the login screen.
- The connection to the server is often interrupted during gameplay.
- Rewards or progress may be delayed or not awarded at all.
Helldivers 2 was released on February 8 and is exclusively available on PC (via Steam) and PlayStation 5. The game released by Sony bypassed other platforms, including Xbox. Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft Gaming, expressed strong disappointment about the console exclusivity of this title in a recent interview.
