HBO Proceeds With The Last of Us TV Series
We have good news for fans of The Last of Us. HBO decided to order the first season of TV adaptation.
HBO orderedthe first season of The Last of Us, a TV adaptation of the hit game series by Naughty Dog. The production was first reported in March, this year, but until now, only the fittings for the project have been in progress and it could have been abandoned at any time. Now the works will start at full speed.
It is worth noting that HBO immediately ordered the whole season, instead of producing just the pilot episode first. The station does this for projects that are surefire hits. An example of this was the story of Game of Thrones prequels. Bloodmoon was abandoned after the poor reception of the pilot, while the first season of House of the Dragon was ordered.
According to previous reports, the producers of The Last of Us will be Craig Mazin, known from Chernobyl, and Neil Druckman, the father of the games on which the adaptation is based. This duo is also to be responsible for the scripts of the first season.
Carolyn Strauss (producer of Chernobyl and Game of Thrones) will also take part in the works, Evan Wells from Naughty Dog and Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan from PlayStation Productions.
The first episode will be directed by Johan Renck, who has played the same role in all episodes of Chernobyl. The Last of Us will be broadcast on HBO channel and available in for streaming on HBO Max. The planned release date has not been announced yet.
Francesca Orsi, vice president of HBO, has high hopes for The Last of Us. He calls Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman visionaries and ensures that the TV adaptation will meet the expectations of the fans, as well as conquer the hearts of those who are not familiar with the console incarnation of the series.
