Has NCIS: Hawaii Been Cancelled?
The series finale of NCIS: Hawaii recently premiered. Does this mean that the TV show has been canceled and this is the end of it?
NCIS: Hawaii is a crime TV series that focuses on the activities carried out by the NCIS team in Hawaii. They investigated cases related to military operations, national security, as well as many other mysteries of the paradise islands. The first season premiered in 2021.
And now the TV series has come to an end with the finale, which debuted May 6 on CBS. NCIS: Hawai'i was canceled after three seasons, which was announced in late April this year. The NCIS franchise is doing well and the main series continues to be developed, in addition to work on a prequel and a second season of NCIS: Sydney, however, the Hawaiian group is already saying goodbye to us.
CBS executives explained that it was a difficult decision, but that significant factors contributed to it.
Everything came back [from the Hollywood strikes] really strong, but ultimately we have to look at the cohesiveness of the schedule flow. We have to evaluate the financials and the performance overall, and we make tough decisions.
In the past, CBS backtracked on its decision to cancel another series, S.W.A.T., however Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, told reporters that such a situation won’t happen again this time and this is the end of NCIS: Hawai'i.
NCIS: Hawaii starred Vanessa Lachey, Alex Tarrant, Noah Mills, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Tori Anderson and Kian Talan. And the executive producers of this title were Matt Bosack, Jan Nash, Christopher Silber and Larry Teng. This installment of NCIS ended after 3 seasons, which consisted of 54 episodes. The final season was the shortest, with only 10 episodes.
