Hardcore retro platformer Cuphead gets a new gameplay footage
A nice gameplay footage from Cuphead emerged online. This is a run-and-gun platformer styled on cartoons from the 30s, which is going to give you real hard time playing.
If you are not afraid of real challenge in video games plus you love old-school, you definitely should meet Cuphead. This is a run-and-gun indie platformer by Studio MDHR with the stylistics inspired by 1930s cartoons – not only when it comes to graphics but also the hilarious sounds and ragtime piano music playing in the background. Those who already played the demo (like Eurogamer and PCGamesN did), say that the game is tough as hell, and you will be dying a lot before you master the mechanics enough to enjoy smooth playthrough. Here’s a new 11-minute gameplay footage recorded by Eurogamer:
Cuphead features a wacky adventure of the eponymous Cuphead boy, who runs and shoots projectiles from his hand at sinister-looking plants. Although the protagonist has infinite lives, it takes just one hit to kill him, upon which he moves back to the last checkpoint. Platform-style game levels and special boss battles can be accessed through a world map that resembles old RPGs. Apart from single player gameplay, Cuphead can be played in co-op mode, in which the other player becomes Mugman. Cuphead is slated for release in 2016 for PC and Xbox One.
