Original news (October 10)
e43 Industries announced that the fifth season ofHalo Infinite will launch on October 17. Reckoning, as it has been named, will bring a number of highlights in the form of new maps, game modes, rewards and options related to character and weapon customization.
- The list of new features introduced in Halo Infinite's fifth season opens with two maps. We are talking about Prism (full of crystalline caves) and Forbidden (filled with mysterious ruins). In addition, Reckoning will see the return of the Extraction mode known from Halo 4 (which, however, will receive changes to adapt it to the specifics of Master Chief's latest adventure), while the Firefight King of the Hill module will appear in matchmaking.
- In addition, the devs will introduce a new Forge AI toolkit, as well as a number of bonus options related to character and weapon customization, such as skins from The Flood, the ability to dress our hero in any helmet (regardless of the selected Armor Core) and access to the Infinite Mark VI Armor Kit (after gaining Hero rank).
Below you'll find some longer gameplay from the upcoming season.
Halo Infinite debuted on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on December 8, 2021. The title met with a warm reception; on Steam it boasts "mostly positive" reviews, while on Metacritic its average rating from industry media is in the 80-87/100 range (depending on the platform). Over time, however, most gamers lost interest, and in July rumors surfaced that the brand had been given one last chance by Microsoft.
