Franklin and Lamar Return in GTA Online; Red Dead Online Still Neglected
GTA Online received another update, enabling us to take on the role of Franklin or Lamar. At the other end of the new content bingo is Red Dead Online, which is still waiting for anything new.
- GTA Online has received a new update;
- It introduces a variant of adversary mode, starring Franklin and Lamar;
- Red Dead Online still isn't getting any new content.
While you may have missed it, GTA Online received another update yesterday. That's because Rockstar Games chose not to brag about the update on their social media or Newswire. It's even more surprising if we take into account the fact that the update introduces a mission in which we can play as Franklin and Lamar. The interest of fans would probably be enormous.
GTA Online also offers now a new variant of the adversary mode called Double Down. It enables us to take part in a clash in which Franklin and Lamar, armed with a large arsenal of firearms, face other eight players are armed only with sawn-off shotguns. The band of opponents, however, has an infinite number of lives, while Franklin and Lamar have just one each. The goal for the players of both characters is to survive the onslaught for 5 minutes.
Unfortunately, this mode is supposedly very badly balanced. The wide range of available weaponry is not enough to even the odds in a clash between two mortals and a group of respawning gangsters. Currently, most of the games in Double Down end in defeat for Franklin and Lamar.
Unfortunately, Red Dead Online playsers can't even count on this kind of unpolished novelty. It's been over half a year since the last big update introduced new content to the game. Nothing heralds that the situation will improve. Rockstar seems to be entirely focused on the development of GTA. Fans of Red Dead Online have to be satisfied with updates revolving around the content that has been present in the game for a long time. We can also take comfort in the fact that all the shortcomings, delays and deficiencies in the development of online modes of the above titles are perhaps the result of advanced work on GTA 6.
