GTA 6's Release Date From Microsoft - Confusion Explained
There is a stir on the web over the GTA 6 release date cited by Microsoft. However, the mentioned date is neither new nor official.
The igniter of the confusion is Microsoft's response to the British government's ongoing investigation into Activision Blizzard acquisition. A publicized document reads that the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 can be expected in 2024.
The mention of this game's debut appears in a section about the ranges generated by Activision games. According to Microsoft, they are not so large that Sony has something to worry about, especially since there is no shortage of games designed in a similar way (relying heavily on shooting) on PlayStation. This is where the example of Rockstar Games' highly anticipated blockbuster comes.
One might have expected that Microsoft has some behind-the-scenes information about the release of the sixth GTA. The problem, however, is that in a footnote regarding this mention there is a hyperlink referring to an article on TechRadar, which collects all known information about the game. The article, in turn, cites previous rumors, whose source is journalist Jason Schreier from Bloomberg. In July, he reported that Rockstar employees expect to face at least two more years of work on the game. We wrote about this elsewhere.
Representatives of Rockstar Games and Take-Two have not yet shared official information on the release date of Grand Theft Auto VI - or anything else concerning the project (even the title has not been confirmed). Waiting fans, however, were able to partially satisfy their curiosity thanks to a big leak from September. Fortunately it will not affect the game's production.
