GTA 6 parody, which disappeared from PS Store, should have no problem with release on Steam
Sony's deleted Grand Theft Auto 6 parody is back, with an altered title and on a different platform.
Players still have not received new information about Grand Theft Auto 6, but the GTA 6 parody, which was removed from the PlayStation Store some time ago, has now appeared on Steam. While fans of the GTA series might consider this little comfort (or perhaps none whatsoever).
Grand Taking Ages is as subtle in the title as in the presentation, although it should be added that the creators of this "title" have made some changes since the game was removed from the Sony store last month (via IGN). The aim was to obtain Valve's approval to release the game on Steam - approval that, surprisingly, was granted (which was supposed to be the result of direct contact with the company and explaining the concept of the project). For example, the Roman numeral six was removed from the title, and the main graphic promoting the game was changed to resemble Rockstar's projects less closely.
The title itself was almost entirely based on the content "created" by artificial intelligence, which was harnessed to develop, among other things, dubbing. The game's description makes it clear that this project is mainly a parody poking fun at the chaos surrounding Rockstar's hit - from the endless waiting ("Coming soon since forever!") to the hacker attack on Rockstar and the enormous expectations for this game.
Daniel Violarte, the creator of this "grand" production, indicated in an interview with IGN that the concept of Grand Taking Ages is no different from many other projects parodying well-known series, including Grand Theft Auto (the developer cited the documentary film Grand Theft Hamlet). Such justification is also supposed to help in bringing his "GTA" back to the PlayStation Store.
Above all, this is further evidence of how tired players are of waiting, not just for the release of GTA 6, but for any updates about the game. The anniversary of the first trailer's release is long behind us, and despite the influence of the moon or some "teasers," Rockstar Games still hasn't revealed anything more about Grand Theft Auto 6.
