Green Hell Devs on Next DLC and Good Sales
Creepy Jar announced that the The Spirits of Amazonia 3 expansion for Green Hell has been delayed. At the same time, the developers boasted about the very good sales.
Creepy Jar continues to develop Green Hell. Today it was announced that the third part of The Spirits of Amazonia expansion has been delayed and will be released at an unspecified date. The reason for this decision was given as the increased scale of the project. At the same time, the game's sales results were revealed.
The Spirits of Amazonia is DLC released as a free update to the game. It is a prequel to the story told in the basic version Green Hell. Thanks to it we learn how the first meeting between Jake and mysterious Amazonian tribe went.
According to Creepy Jar CEO Krzysztof Kwiatek's statement, the release of the subsequent parts of The Spirits of Amazonia cause the increased sales of Green Hell (via Stockwatch [in Polish]). That's why its final release is to be of the highest possible quality to meet fan expectations.
"The first two parts of The Spirits of Amazonia expansion turned out to be a huge success and their releases clearly boosted the sales figures of Green Hell on Steam. As a result, player expectations for the final part of the expansion are definitely higher than for the previous ones. Sales continue to be very high, with 832,000 copies sold across all platforms since the beginning of the year, according to a report dated August 23, 2021. Therefore, attack special importantce to the final DLC for Green Hell - The Spirits of Amazonia 3 will be the biggest expansion we've prepared."
At the same time, it was reported that Creepy Jar plans to expand to consoles. Currently, work is underway on ports of the first two installements of The Spirits of Amazonia for PS4 and Xbox One. There are also plans to port Green Hell to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
