Gotham Knights Will Get 4-player Co-op Mode Upon Release
WB Games Montreal announced that Gotham Knights will receive an update introducing an additional co-op mode, called Heroic Assault, in November.
We are only a few days away from the market debut of Gotham Knights, a game developed by Batman: Arkham Origins creators at WB Games Montreal. After the release, however, the authors do not intend to go on vacation. Instead, they will deal with the game's development, which will include the addition of a new variant of cooperative gameplay.
- WB Games Montreal announced, that Gotham Knights will receive an additional co-op mode on November 29, 2022.
- This gameplay variant has been named Heroic Assault. It will be a separate entity from the campaign's open-world storyline and will enable up to four users to play simultaneously. Standard co-op, which has been available since launch, is for two players only. We don't know at this point what other novelties the second mode will offer.
- Heroic Assault will be added for free, as part of an update.
Recall that Gotham Knights is heading for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Initially, Xbox One and PS4 versions were also planned, but they have been scrapped. The game will be released on October 21 this year, simultaneously on all three hardware platforms.
The game will offer four playable characters and the campaign has been designed in such a way that it will encourage you to go through it four times, in order to learn the storyline in its entirety.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that a few days ago WB Games Montreal revealed the system requirements of Gotham Knights for PC. They are quite high, which is not particularly surprising, given that the devs were unable to develop releases for old consoles. On top of that, the developers have announced that the PC edition will offer many additional features, including ray tracing support.
