God of War on PC Gets Patch With New Graphic Option

PC version of God of War has received a modest patch, but one that introduces the anticipated support for AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 technology.

PC edition of God of War has received a new update (1.0.12), the first in nearly three months. It's not a big patch, but it introduces an important new feature for users of Radeon graphics cards.

GoW received support for FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 technology. This is a new version of Nvidia's DLSS equivalent (which also works on GeForce), i.e. it allows for scaling the image in such a way as to significantly improve gaming performance without significantly degrading the image quality.

God of War already had FSR support, but patch 1.0.12 introduces support for version 2.0 of the technology, available from May 12. This provides an even bigger jump in performance, according to some, matching or even surpassing the results of DLSS 2.0 (vide TechPowerUp review).

The difference can also be seen in GoW, at least according to the image published by Rock, Paper, Shotgun, although it should be noted that the results on a GeForce RTX 3090 are slightly worse than with the Nvidia solution. Nevertheless, owners of weaker GPUs (and fans of higher resolutions) should be happy with this news.
