Ghost of Tsushima: Legends With New Free Content and Standalone Version
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the multiplayer expansion for Sucker Punch's hit game, will receive new content in early September. The expansion will also be made available in a standalone and paid version that does not require the base game.
August 20 will see the release of Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut, an expanded version of last year's Sucker Punch hit on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, along with the Iki Island expansion and new visuals options on PS5. The developers announced that on September 3, the game's multiplayer mode will also receive new, free content named Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.
This will include a previously unavailable game variant called Rivals, which will be accompanied by more trophies and cosmetic items to obtain. During the game, two teams of players will fight to defeat as many enemies appearing on the board in successive waves.
Each killed enemy will drop magatama - a special currency, which can be spent in many different ways in designated sacrificial points scattered across the map. The players will be able to, for example, block the purchases of the opposing team, cast curses on their rivals (e.g. slowly depriving them of life), as well as gain special attacks and weapons. When a team spends enough "money", they will unlock the last wave of enemies, and after defeating them, they will win the match. In addition, with Rivals, the developers will also expand the character progressopm system, including new abilities for all playable character classes.
It's worth mentioning that on August 20, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will receive a major patch, introducing many small improvements to ensure a better balance of gameplay. These are based on player feedback and suggestions. Fans who have completed the campaign and New Game+ mode will also receive a fresh batch of cosmetic items. The developers have also announced that between September 10 and October 1, they will be releasing new features such as new maps and challenges on a weekly basis.
Along with the release of Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut on August 20, a standalone edition of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends for PS4 and PS5 will be offered on the PlayStation Store, which will cost €19.99. The game will offer the same content as the version available with the basic version of Ghost of Tsushima (except for skins unlocked during the campaign). It will also be possible to buy the single-player mode for 50 € (PS4) or 60 € (PS5) do match. In this case we get the full content of Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut, including Iki Island.
