Ghost of Tsushima May Get a Standalone Single Player Expansion
At the next State of Play we may see a standalone expansion for Ghost of Tsushima. The expansion is supposedly called Ghost of Ikishima and will contain only a single player campaign.
Rumors have surfaced online about a a standalone expansion for Ghost of Tsushima, allegedly titled Ghost of Ikishima. Information about it has been, in a way, confirmed by Nick Baker, known as "Shpeshal_Nick" on Twitter. The founder of xboxera.com revealed that the expansion is to resemble the size of theHivebusters DLC for Gears 5 (providing around 3-4 hours of fun, but let's remember that Ghost of Tsushima features an open world, so its full exploration will certainly take a little more time). We can expect it, however, in the second half of 2021 - and it's possible that it will only be available in the second half of the year, possibly exclusively on PlayStation 5.
It would be a strange move on Sony's part, as the base game was originally released on PS4. Nick Baker, however, is unsure whether Ghost of Ikishima will be available on both PS5 and PS4. That scenario seems more likely to him, but it doesn't mean anything yet. Shpeshal_Nick also admitted that someone will get in trouble for leaking the DLC, because it was going to be announced only at Sony's presentetion (certainly at the next edition of State of Play). Interestingly, it probably won't be the only surprise we'll see then. The Japanese company is supposed to hold one more ace up their sleeve, which the Internet supposedly still does not know about.
We can only guess what it might be. It was recently noted that the cover of Ghost of Tsushima no longer features the "Only on PlayStation" sign, which may (or may not) mean that the game is coming to PC. Sony has confirmed that it will be releasing more of its exclusives on PC. - how many exactly? That we may have learned from the PlayStation Studios curator page on Steam. It's possible, however, that it's about completely different productions and platforms. Recently, for example, someone discovered Demon's Souls Remake in the PS4 database.
For further details, however, we will have to wait. Remember also to approach this type of unconfirmed information with appropriate caution. Especially since Nick Baker's credibility can vary. Vastly.
