RTX 3000 Prices Up to Three Times Higher Than MSRP

Following the situation on the GPU market, we can easily see that their current prices are a deterrent to purchase. The amounts we would have to spend on GeForce RTX 3000 or Radeon RX 6000 are even three times higher than suggested by Nvidia and AMD. .

Unfortunately, this situation is likely to continue for months. Shortages on the technology market are nothing new, and with each passing week the situation is getting worse. German website 3DCenter (via Videocardz) checked how the prices of individual GPUs belonging to the GeForce RTX 3000 and Radeon RX 6000 series changed. It turns out that some models cost several times more than the suggested price.

According to the analysis of the German portal, the biggest price increase was recorded by Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 cards. The report shows that they are now on average three times more expensive than the manufacturer's suggested prices (MSRP). As a consolation, the situation looks a little better in the case of Radeon RX 6000, because they exceed their MSRP "only" twice. In the table below you can see how the prices for individual models of GPU in Germany and Austria shaped with time.

Those who want to buy a new GPU for their computer will have to be patient. Unfortunately, at the moment it is not known when the prices will return to normal, and everything indicates that things will become even more expensive.

We can only hope for an increase in the production of chips, which should automatically result in lower prices of GPUs. However, it is not known how the situation with cryptocurrencies will develop. Crypto miners very quickly buy up GPUs available on the market, and manufacturers of these components use the current situation to their advantage, increasing the suggested prices. Perhaps the situation will improve with the arrival of GeForce LHR series, which are supposed to be much less efficient in mining cryptocurrencies.
