New Gears Will be Powered by Unreal Engine 5
Developers of the Gears series are switching to Unreal Engine 5, and The Coalition promises to use the technology in a number of new projects.
It's been a while since our last adventure in the world of Gears, if only in a spin-off or expansion. However, there's no need to get overly worried about the future of the series. The Coalition has many new projects planned, which will be powered by the Unreal Engine 5 technology. The fifth generation of the popular engine will help developers create truly next-gen games.
The announcement appeared on the official website of Gears 5, which should dispel any doubts about at least some of these 'projects' not being linked to the series. Of course, it could also be about completely different titles. Recently, Venture Beat's Jeff Grubb reported that The Coalition may be working on a game based on the Star Wars license. Of course, it will take some time before the studio will be able to take advantage of the benefits of the new incarnation of the Unreal Engine. Therefore, developers stressed that in the near future we shouldn't expect any announcements from The Coalition. Fans of Gears must arm themselves with patience.
