Gamers Want Switch 2 Announcement. Alarmo Presentation from Nintendo Fails to Inspire Widespread Excitement
Nintendo fans are running out of patience. Alarmo's announcement was the last straw - gamers want an announcement of Switch 2, not an alarm clock for nearly $100.
When Nintendo filed a new device with the Federal Communications Commission of the United States in September, no one expected it to be an alarm clock. Alarmo from Nintendo responds to the user's movements, supplementing the alarm melody with new sounds. While waiting for Switch 2, some fans do not feel comforted, especially since the watch has been priced at almost $100 (see The Gamer).
Players want Switch 2, not an alarm clock.
The presentation of Alarmo was appreciated by some fans, who have already ordered the alarm clock from Nintendo. However, there are still people waiting for the official announcement of Switch 2. Recently, there have been more and more leaks: whether revealing the appearance of the Switch 2, or suggesting the date of the console's presentation. The latter, according to unofficial reports, is supposed to be distant.
Comments appeared under the Alarmo post, indicating at least a little frustration with the lack of official information about Switch 2. Nintendo fiercely guards its secrets, as a result of which requests and pleas for announcements pour out under other posts from Nintendo, including the one about bonuses for Super Mario Party: Jamboree. Even someone's grandmother is supposed to be at risk, whose release from the cage depends on the announcement of Switch 2.
The impatience of the fans is probably fueled by the content of the leaks. The Switch 2 will support DLSS and scaled 4K resolution thanks to Nvidia components. This also involves backward compatibility, which would enable the fans to smoothly transition from the current Switch to a newer version of the platform.
One of Alarmo's functions was particularly disliked by some people. The motion sensor seems like an interesting gadget, but it will most likely only work for a single user. When Alarmo detects that he is getting up from bed, it will turn off the alarm. In a situation where another person was sleeping with them, it would be necessary to reset the alarm clock to wake up the other person. According to one Internet user, the alarm could be turned off even by an animal if Alarmo detects its movement.
Theoretically, the solution is to activate the "button mode", which deactivates the sensor. Then we will turn off the alarm by pressing the button, but this will make Alarmo work almost like a regular, classic alarm clock for a few hundred dollars. It's worth remembering that Alarmo is only available for purchase to players with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
