After a Series of Disappointing Steam Launches Gamers Fawn Over Wizard with a Gun
Steam users have enthusiastically welcomed survival shooter Wizard with a Gun. Today, console owners will join the fun.
Yesterday saw the premiere of Wizard with a Gun, an isometric action game enriched with elements typical of the roguelike and survival genres, developed by Galvanic Games. The debut turned out to be quite a success.
- On Steam, gamers are delighted. 93% of player reviews praise the game, which is categorized as a "very positive" reception.
- Below we quote some of the reviews:
"I absolutely recommend this game. I usually don't like roguelikes and survival games, but this one somehow takes all the good qualities from both and creates an excellent production. I have no reservations whatsoever."
"I am really impressed with Wizard with a Gun. Everything about it works 100% - from the graphical style, through combat and upgrade, exploration, resource gathering mechanics to sound design."
"In this case, the quality of the trailers actually reflects the quality of the game."
- After recent disappointing high-profile launches like Lords of the Fallen, Star Trek: Infinite and Total War: Pharaoh, which have 55%, 57% and 60% positive reviews on Steam, respectively, we finally got a game that seems to have appealed to the vast majority of users of Valve's service.
- The game is also achieving good activity results. The launch day record was 3469 concurrent users, an impressive number for such a niche production. Yesterday, similar results were achieved by the much more "renowned' Total War: Pharaoh, and Star Trek: Infinite fared worse.
Recall that Wizard with a Gun made its debut yesterday, only on PC. The game can be purchased on Steam for $29.99.
In turn, today at 8 a.m. PST the game will hit Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles and PlayStation 5. Further plans also include a release on Nintendo Switch.
