Full Version of The Heretic Shows Graphic Capabilities of Unity
Unity has published a full version of a tech demo called The Heretic. Almost 8-minute material presents the capabilities of the 2019.3 version of the engine.
In March. last year we informed about the tech demo of Unity engine. At that time, the creators only provided a fragment of it, but now it's time to reveal all the cards. On the official Unity channel on YouTube, appeared a video, almost 8 minutes long, demonstrating capabilities of the engine in version 2019.3. The video is titled The Heretic (the same as the one presented in March) and proves that game developers will be able to squeeze a lot from this technology. Look for yourself.
On the official website of the Unity engine we can read that the tech demo uses all the graphic features of the engine, including ray tracing and HDRP (High Definition Render Pipeline). This is complemented by motion blur, depth of field, bloom, film grain, color grading or Panini Projection (an effect that enables you to display perspective views in scenes with a very large field of view). The creators admit, however, that the greatest challenge was to create a human model. They used 3D and 4D scanning simultaneously.
The demo is not yet available for download, although we can expect it in the near future. So far, all Unity Technology test versions have been made available to users.
