Friday the 13th: The Game Devs Work on a Ghostbusters Game

Another Ghostbusters game, other than Ghostbusters: Afterlife, is being made. The creators of Friday the 13th: The Game are working on it, as informed by one of the co-founders of IllFonic studio.

It looks like fans of the iconic Ghostbusters will receive not only a new movie from the series, but also another game. During the Questlove Supreme podcast, Raphael Saadiq - American musician and co-founder of IllFonic - mentioned that his team is currently working on a Ghostbusters game. He didn't reveal any information about it, however, which may indicate that it remains in early stages of development.

Taking to account IllFonic's previous experience, the title will probably focus on asymmetrical multiplayer competition. Just for your information, the studio has such works as Friday the 13th: The Game and Predator: Hunting Grounds in its portfolio. The last of these games was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment on PC and PS4, which may be a clue in the matter of possible target hardware platforms. Especially since the Japanese company owns the rights to the Ghostbusters franchise.

The premiere of Ghostbusters: Afterlife is scheduled for November 11, 2021. The movie will feature, among others, Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), as well as the stars of the earlier movies - Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.
