Free-To-Play Hit From Arma and DayZ Devs Is Finally Coming to PC. Full Release of Vigor Is Preceded by Its Launch in Steam Early Access
Online shooter Vigor will become available to PC players five years after its release on Xbox One. The game will be released in May in paid early access.
Bohemia Interactive Studio has developed popular titles such as the Arma series and DayZ. All of their released games share a common feature - they have debuted on PC. All except Vigor. This will finally change soon, as the game will be released in paid early access on Steam in May.
What is Vigor?
Vigor is a free-to-play online shooter with survival elements. The gameplay is similar to Escape from Tarkov. The players arrive on a map filled with resources that they must compete for, with the ultimate objective being to reach one of the exits. Those who succeed will keep the acquired items, which they can then use to upgrade their shelter.
The title originally debuted almost 5 years ago, on August 19, 2019, on the Xbox One console. With time, it received conversions for Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 4 and 5. In the end, the game met with a mixed reception. The average reviewer rating on Metacritic is 61/100. The players' rating is slightly higher - it's 6.9/10.
Vigor - Early Access
To join the early access, you'll need to buy the "Reinforcements Pack" for $19.99. The set also includes many additional items, such as an exclusive uniform, weapons, or a special title.
Players will have access to the season 18 content, which was released a few months ago on consoles, along with enhanced shooting introduced as part of the weapon update. Although for PC gamers it shouldn't matter anyway, because everything will be new to them.
Importantly, all progress made during early access will be deleted with the release of the free, full version. The contents of the purchased package will remain assigned to the account.
The release date of the full version hasn't been revealed. All we know is that the release will take place later this year.
