Free Prequel Spirits of Amazonia Scheduled for Green Hell
Creepy Jar released a trailer and revealed the release date for Spirits of Amazonia update for Green Hell. The update, which will debut later this month, will introduce a new mode, offering a prequel to the main storyline.
- On January 28, Green Hell will receive a free prequel in the form of an update titled Spirits of Amazonia;
- Spirits of Amazonia will introduce a new mode in which we will explore the events that took place before the story presented in the main campaign;
- It features a number of tasks and puzzles, a new section of the map, a previously unknown species of fungus, and the ability to add a balcony to our forest home.
Despite the fact that since September 2019 (and since August 2018, if we count Early Access on Steam) Green Hell managed to establish a position on the market and gain a sizeable fan base, Creepy Jar is not going to stop working on the development of the project in the near future. Warsaw-based developers have revealed the release date of the next major update - Spirits of Amazonia - which will introduce a new mode, offering a prequel to the story told in main campaign. Apart from that, a new map fragment, fresh quests and a few other additions have been prepared for it.
According to the September announcement, Spirits of Amazonia will be divided into several parts, and the first of them will launch on January 28. Let's take a moment to watch the trailer and take a closer look at the attractions prepared for us.
In Green Hell: Spirits of Amazonia we'll have a chance to see the first meeting between Jake and an unknown Amazonian tribe, with whom the protagonist was trying to make friends. Although it didn't go too well (as he ended with an arrow in his stomach), the protagonist managed to establish a thread of communication with the local shaman, who directed him on a "new path".
What does this enigmatic "path" look like? Well, Jake has to cross the virgin areas of the map and perform four legendary tasks, during which he will have to look for paintings on stones hidden throughout the rainforest and solve various puzzles. In this way he will not only learn the history of the Amazonian people, but will also be able to help them. In what? Apparently, the developers want the players to find out the answer to this question on their own.
Novelties do not end there, because the update will also bring a new species of fungus with "mysterious properties", a previously absent type of thorny tree, as well as the ability to expand our forest residence with a balcony.
The creators also announced that on January 19 Green Hell will be available with a 30% discount on Steam. In addition, the devs have some announcements related to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, which will see the light of day "soon", as well as information about the release of versions for VR headsets.
