FPP Mod Available for Resident Evil 2
PC players can download a mod for Resident Evil 2, which enables us to switch to FPP view. Additionally, the mod enables us to manipulate the FOV and disable the dark vignette effect.
Resident Evil VII: Biohazard proved that the FPP view works well in this series. In the recently released remake of the iconic second installment of the series, titled simply Resident Evil 2, Capcom decided to show the action from behind the heroes, like in installments betwee 4 and 6. PC players who would like to take a look at the Raccoon City police station overrun by the living dead through the eyes of Leon S. Kennedy and his companions, can download a fan modification by PrayDog, which introduces such functionality. If you would like to check it out, click here. It is worth noting that work on it is still ongoing and the currently available version is not final.
As you can see from the video above, the functionality of this mod is not limited only to the change of perspective. The creator also enables you to modify the field of view and turn off the vignetting effect, through which the image in the corners of the screen is visibly darker.
The change of perspective to first-person enables us to take a closer look at the elements of the environment, as well as movements animations of the heroes’ hands or the objects held by them. In addition, the FPP view enhances the impressions accompanying battles with zombies, which suddenly are dangerously "close" to us.
Resident Evil 2 made its debut on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 25. The title received high scores and more than three million copies sere sold until now, so Capcom can now confidently make plans for the further development of the series. Just four days after the release of the game, it became clear that Resident Evil 3 also had a chance to see a thorough refurbishment, if such were the will of the fans. Soon afterwards, leaks were revealed, according to which the schedule of the Japanese for the coming years includes both a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and a full-fledged eighth installment of the series.
