Foxhole - Research Explained
If you are wondering how research works in Foxhole, this article will give you answers. We will tell you how to develop technology.
Foxhole is an MMO game that allows players to face each other in a long-term war. The reality of the game, although not historical, is largely reminiscent of that of the World Wars. However, this title is not just about shooting enemies. It is a simulation of large-scale warfare - logistics, reconnaissance and even technology. In this article, we look at the latter aspect. Many players wonder how the research mechanics work in Foxhole. In this article, we will talk about it.
Foxhole Research – Resources
Technologies in Foxhole can be developed thanks to Prototype Kits. In order to create them, you will first need to obtain suitable materials from the Salvage fields.
- Vehicles – Iron
- Advanced Vehicles – Copper
- Weapons – Aluminium
Once you have the raw materials, go to the Refinery and melt them into Alloys. Then take the materials to the Engineering Centers.
Foxhole Research – Technology Tree
In order to develop the technology you have to go to the Engineering Centers. To interact with it, simply click E in its area. At the top of the screen, you can see 2 categories of research. These are vehicles and weapons.
You may also see that the technology bars are divided into 2 parts. On the right are the technologies that will automatically be developed with the tier research. On the left, on the other hand, are the researches that you can choose. They are worked on at the same time and the progress on them is combined into the overall work on the tier. However, only the technology that contributes more to the end of the work will be developed.
To develop technologies, you need to create prototype kits from refined materials. To do this, simply click on the technology to be researched (you need alloys). Technologies are being developed one by one.
Foxhole Research – Prototype Kit
Researching technology brings the bonus of a prototype kit. Once it has been created, you will be able to build an item or vehicle that is being worked on. In the former case, go to the Factory; in the latter, head to the Garage.
Once you are in the correct building, all you have to do is interact with it (E key) and then right-click on the prototype kit. If you have enough raw materials, select produce prototype.
