Forza Horizon 5 Will Get 24 New Cars; Game World Soon to Evolve

Playground Games unveiled the highlights for Forza Horizon 5, which we'll be enjoying in December and January as part of Series 2. and 3. 24 more cars (16 of which are free) and a variety of activities in an evolving world await us.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Playground Games has unveiled the highlights for the next two months in Forza Horizon 5 (Series 2. and 3.);
  2. Series 2. will bring Christmas and winter activities and decorations, as well as eight new cars (free);
  3. Series 3. will also deliver eight cars and New Year's theme;
  4. Eight additional cars will be offered to purchasers of the Car Pass (DLC).

This Thursday, December 9, Forza Horizon 5 will see the launch of Series 2. - another four seasons (weeks) with activities to unlock fresh content. The date has been known for a long time, but until yesterday we didn't know what exactly Playground Games was preparing for us. This changed with the latest episode of Let's Go! (its recording can be found below). Interestingly, the developer also discussed Series 3. right away, so we got an insight into the events of not one, but two upcoming months.

On the occasion of the stream we learned the order and conditions that we will have to meet in order to unlock the new vehicles. Here is their chronological list, along with information about other attractions.

Series 2.

  1. 1939 Maserati 8CTF - the car will be available over the summer period in the game (December 9-16) for 45 Festival Playlist points;
  2. 2012 Lamborghini Aventador J - rewarded with a seasonal championship in the fall (Dec. 16-23);
  3. 2010 Ferrari 599 GTO - winter (Dec. 23-30), 25 points from the Playlist;
  4. 2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello - spring (December 30 to January 6), seasonal championship;
  5. 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante - spring, 25 pts;
  6. 1965 Peel Trident - spring, 45 pts;
  7. 2018 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ - to unlock the car, you will need to accumulate as many as 200 points over the course of the entire Series 2. (December 9 to January 6);
  8. 1962 Peel P50 - the conditions for obtaining this machine remain hidden.

The theme of Series 2. is winter and Christmas. For this time, the town of Mulege will host Horizon Wonderland, a shop where you can spend Forzathon points on gifts (read: cars) for yourself or your friends. There will be a community challenge associated with it, which consists of giving gifts to each other. By sending cars as gifts, players will be racking up a global tally - everyone will get a Santa outfit when it's half full, and a "mystery car" (the Peel P50?) will be added when it's full.

What's more, the stadium will be transformed into an ice arena with festive decorations and even a hockey pitch (a treat for anyone who, like me, misses the big frozen Lake Derwent from Forza Horizon 4). Additionally, we can expect special Christmas outfits for the characters, as well as gifts, snowmen and other seasonal elements of the environment to run over. With all this comes a new category of Distinctions - "Evolving World" - containing thirteen challenges so far.

Not counting the DLC, series 2 and 3 will only bring one brand new car, previously unknown to fans of the Forza series - and you'll have to do some poking around to get it.

Series 3.

  1. 2003 Toyota Celica SS-I - summer (January 6-13), 45 pts;
  2. 2013 Donkervoort D8 GTO - fall (Jan. 13-20), 25 pts;
  3. 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser Arctic Trucks AT37 - fall, 45 pts;
  4. 2007 Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT38 - winter (Jan. 20-27), 45 pts;
  5. 2015 Jaguar XKR-S GT - spring (January 27 to February 3), 25 pts;
  6. 1990 Vauxhall Lotus Carlton - spring, 45 pts;
  7. 2016 Zenvo TS1 - 120 points throughout the series;
  8. 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 - 200 points across the series.

Series 3 will focus on the New Year celebrations. The associated decorations (specific to different cultures) will be seen primarily in the city of Guanajuato, including glowing lanterns appearing at night to be ran over. More important, however, are the new activities - several trailblazer competitions - and horns to unlock.

For now, there are sixteen new car models - what about the other eight cars? Those will be reserved for purchasers of the Car Pass and will be made available at a rate of one per week. The list includes:

  1. 2017 Ferrari J50 - will be unlocked on December 9;
  2. 2019 Ferrari Monza SP2 - December 16;
  3. 1973 Lamborghini Espada 400 GT - December 23;
  4. 2020 Lamborghini Huracan Evo - December 30;
  5. 1966 Jaguar XJ13 - January 6;
  6. 1993 Jaguar XJ220 TWR - January 13;
  7. 2018 Ferrari FXX-K Evo - January 20;
  8. 2018 Audi TT RS - January 27.

Of course, on the occasion of the broadcast, the developers also didn't fail to assure once again that they're working hard to crack down on all the bugs that plague the game (and there are still some, as the official list of known issues shows).
