Forza Horizon 5 Mod Adds Ray Tracing in Races
A mod for Forza Horizon 5 has appeared in the web, which enables us to enable ray tracing during races. By default, the game uses this technique only in the garage and the ForzaVision mode.
An interesing mod has been released for the PC version of Forza Horizon 5, enabling us to toggle ray tracing during actual gameplay. The game normally uses this technology only in the virtual garage and in the ForzaVista mode, where it enables us to enjoy close-up models of cars. This means we can't enjoy RTX effects during the actual races - and the aforementioned mod changes that.
The project was developed by a fan known as Dictator. The original version only works with the Steam version of the game. However, with the help of another modder, Rotab, they also managed to prepare an edition that works with FH5 from Microsoft Store and Game Pass.
You can see how the mod looks like in action by watching Digital Foundry's video above. The material also offers a visual comparison between the standard game and the version with ray tracing enabled by the modification, as well as performance tests.
The mod has the form of a script, which must be loaded through Cheat Engine. The creators warn that sometimes when you run the mod first time, the RTX effects do not work properly and then you have to restart the game

The project is at an early stage of development and has problems running on some computers. Nevertheless, if you have a GPU that supports ray tracing, it is worth giving this mod a try.
Forza Horizon 5 debuted on November 9 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Early access for those who bought the Premium Edition launched four days earlier. The game became the best debut in the history of Xbox Game Studios. Over 6 million people have already played it.
